Pune Zilla Parishad installs three solar lamps at Sinhagad fort
Sakaal Times: Pune Zilla Parishad has installed three solar lamps at the historic Sinhagad fort. The solar lamps were inaugurated on the occasion of the death anniversary of Narvir Tanaji Malusare on Sunday.
Pune Metropolitan Council’s member Ramesh Konde has said that Sinhagad Pavitrya Samiti (sanctity committee) had sought installation of the solar lamps for the benefit of visitors to the fort and also to preserve the sanctity of the fort. Funds for the solar lamps were sanctioned by the social welfare department of Zilla Parishad.
The lamps have been installed at the samadhi site of Tanaji Malusare, samadhi site of Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj and at the parking lot. The installation of the solar lamps cost Rs 81,000. Konde said that it is proposed to install some more solar lamps on the path to the fort and also at the fort.
