City-based institutes to have courses in IT and management in China

Pune Mirror: After establishing ‘Brand Pune’ as a educational hub in the middle east, a city institute will now impart lessons to China. Pune-based Amplify Mindware group of institutions along with Bharati Vidyapeeth University(BVU) will now have a campus in China.

BVU Amplify Mindware college will be set up along with a local university, Qindao Technical University, in Shangdong province of China.

BVU Amplify will start its China operations from June 2010. Initially it will impart IT and Management education in the cities of Qingdao and Weifang in Shangdong province.

CEO of BVU Amplify Mindware, Joy Basu, told Pune Mirror, “Initially we will be starting three degree programmes, two post graduate diploma programmes and few certificate courses.”

BVU also has plans to expand Amplify centers to about 39 centres in next 3 years. “Our aim is to expand to multiple cities and go up to Shanghai. Talks are on to start various diploma and degree courses in 39 destinations which will cater to more than 3,000 Chinese students.

We will conduct these programmes in collaboration with local universities”, he said.

Highlighting the demand for Indian universities in China, Basu said, “The Chinese want Indians to teach them IT and software education.

Shangdong province is famous as the outsourcing city in software sector. So demand of such courses is maximum there.” Amplify Mindware Group is also planning to start courses for Chinese professionals soon.

Professor Dr Shivajirao Kadam, Vice Chancellor, BVU said, “In addition to being an IT, healthcare and manufacturing hub, India is now increasingly seen as an education hub.

Pune, in particular, has the right combination of skills sets and resources which further helps in extending our education services overseas.”
