Do you believe in making New Year Resolutions?
New Year brings along its own list of hopes, aspirations and fears. This is the time of the year when we look back and reflect on the changes that need to be made in our life. And the only way to conquer them is through resolutions that we resolve to keep.
The common resolution list includes losing weight, learning new languages, travelling often, quitting bad habits or even looking for new career openings. But we all know how well do they go. But instead of sulking or refraining from making new ones, we at Punekar suggest some resolutions that must be kept by one and all.
Family comes first- Cliché as it may sound, family is the most important institution in the world. And how much ever you are tied up in work; ensure you take some time out for them. Surprise them with gifts, take them out on a family trip or dinner and share your experiences. Don’t forget to tell them how much you love them and do it as often as possible. Trust me, the returns at the end of it will be over whelming.
Health is Wealth- After family; it’s time to concentrate a bit on you. And taking care of your health is a great way of expressing love to your inner self. A highly overrated resolution in everyone’s list is to have a svelte body and lose all that extra weight gained during the binging and drinking sessions during holidays. Concentrate on achieving a healthier body slowly and steadily than at one go. And to help you with the same there are loads of health clubs like ABS, Solaris Fitness World, Gold Gym, Air Gym and so many others. If you are an outdoorsy person opt for sports like badminton, tennis and swimming and enjoy the adrenaline rush of sweating it all out. And to make it workable, tag along a determined workout partner who will ensure that you head out the gym or the sports arena. Sleep well and eat a proper balanced diet and enjoy the benefits of a healthier and energetic you.
Enhance your image- In today’s high handed marketing world, self presentation is extremely important. How you dress, how you talk or how you present yourself in the competitive world is responsible for your image in the eyes of the people. We don’t suggest that you change yourself completely or follow trends blindly but make sure that you work towards looking good. Because if you look good you also feel good and that does give an ultra boost to your self confidence. So try adding a bit of your own style to your dressing and voila you might just have people eating right through your hands. Need any more incentives?
De-stress yourself- The biggest problem faced by most of the people is depression and stress, a modern disease that most of us are succumbing to. How about fighting it instead of worrying about it? There are various ways of unleashing it through activities like yoga and meditation, adventure sports or even driving down to some peaceful weekend getaway. For some, even a nice rejuvenating spa treatment or unwinding with friends can be very beneficial. So find your own special way of de-stressing yourself and see what works for you.
Take up a new hobby-It might sound frivolous to some but taking up a hobby or learning a new language or activity can do wonders to your life. With the release of your creative juices through any form of art can help you in various ways like confidence building and releasing pent up emotions. You can even get through the rough patch in your career as it satisfies your creative instincts and helps to fill up those empty gaps caused due to various reasons.
Do your Social Do- Contribute some of your valuable time and money to some worthy cause that is close to your heart. There are many NGOs in the city like Innocent Heroes foundation, Akanksha, Cry, Crossbow Foundation, Trekdi and others who are handling an array of issues and concerns that affect our everyday life. At the end of it, the satisfaction that you will derive from contributing in any form is unmatchable.
Work harder towards your goals- Be it personal or professional, work harder towards your goals and getting your life organised. Chalk them down and instead of keeping them on a longer loop, go for it right away by being self motivated and determined to achieve them. Make sure you balance both of them right as both of them are of equal importance. And while you’re at it don’t forget to take those much required breaks to unwind yourself. Travelling is a great way to do so as it gives you a new perspective towards your life and perfect for some serious introspection.
Though it is little late to make New Year resolutions but it is never too late to make amendments to make your life better, Right! According to the resolution Gurus the key behind ensuring that you carry forth your resolutions successfully is to make sure they are not too high handed or impossible to attain. So make sure you set those resolutions with some serious thought. And at the end of it when you achieve your set goals and conquer your challenges, the adrenaline rush will be nothing short of climbing the Mount Everest.
