Soon, register your property till 10 pm
Times of India: Soon, you may not be required to take leave for registration of property. The department of registration and stamps is planning to extend the timings at registration offices — one each in Pune, Mumbai and Thane, to 10 pm. Moreover, if the response is good, night shifts will be introduced in these departments.
The process to make this a reality will be set into motion next week itself, state inspector-general registrations (IGR) Ramrao Shinagre said on Friday. “If the project gets the desired response, we will have two shifts — day as well as night — at more registration offices,” he said.
“The intention is to help the working class,” he said, adding, “The department will need to increase the staff for implementing this pilot project. We have got the green signal from the department concerned, such as finance, to add manpower.”
Shinagre said, “The timings for the two shifts are yet to be finalised. We are looking at two options —from 7 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 10 pm. The offices located in the central areas of the three cities will be chosen for this project.”
