ISKCON Pune now eyeing entry in the Guinness world records

Sakaal Times: A drawing competition hosted by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Pune recently is now vying to break the ‘Guinness World Records’ under the category of ‘Largest Art Competition’ in the world.

The competition was conducted for a period of one month. Students of over 350 schools participated in the competition, which led to the record participation of 1, 41,918 children from Pune district, a press release said. The central theme for this competition was Lord Krishna, a historical personality of India.

This huge participation in the competition is all set to beat the earlier Guinness World Records in the same category that was made by an art competition organised by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs of Germany that had over 1.22 lakh entries from the children. The primary aim of this competition was to create awareness among students on issues such as environment protection, and appreciating and preserving nature’s beauty.

The participating students were felicitated and presented with the Certificates of Participation from ISKCON, Pune.
