Rohan Builders receives a five star rating certification for Eco housing

Indiaprwire: Rohan Builders received a  five star rating  certification for Eco housing awarded by the SPTI for their coveted project Rohan Mithila at hands of Shri Mahesh Zagade, Hon. Commissioner of Pune today in a short function. The function was held at site of Rohan Mithila at Vimannagar today.

Also present for the function were Shri Prashant Waghmare, City Engineer of Pune. Dr. Rajendra Jagadale who is the Director General & CEO of Science & Technology Park Pune was also present on the occasion. Science & Technology Park are the authorized body to issue this certification.

The criteria like Site Planning, Environment Architecture, Efficient Building Materials, Energy Efficient Lighting, Solar Water Heaters, Water Conservation, Segregation of Waste and Other Innovative Technologies, are considered while awarding this provisional certification. Dr Jagdale was very appreciative of the steps taken by Rohan right from the designing stage to the maintenance stage. He mentioned that Rohan Mithila scored a high of 830 points on the above mentioned criterion out of 1000. This made the project eligible for a five star certification.

In his talk CMD of Rohan Group Shri Suhas Lunkad mentioned that every employee of Rohan is committed to adopt environment friendly measures. Through activities under the corporate mission of ‘Sankalp’ there are activities like Quality Circles on the sites and Eco friendly drives the company nurtures and promotes activities that are fall under Reduce (usage), Recycle, Renew & Reuse. These are the 4 R’s that are the pillars of Environment friendly activities. In his speech Shri Lunkad congratulated the Pune Municipal Corporation for being the pioneers in taking a measure like rating for housing projects in Pune and to incentivize the same to encourage the construction fraternity to adapt the same.

The execution of the project Rohan Mithila will ensure measures that will Reduce the usage of resources like water, electricity, steel, fuel etc. Rohan Mithila will also have Renewed energy sources. The project also has provision for Recycling of water and waste.

The event was marked by many unique activities. The entire staff of Rohan Group collected Reusable clothes and donated them to the NGO- Intervida that runs a school for the children in the labor camp at Rohan Mithila. They also collected Paper and Plastic waste to be recycled. A signature drive to commit to tree plantation was also organized on this occasion.

In his speech Mr. Zagade who visited the site prior to the function said, “Rohan Group has merged & married the eco friendly measures in their business for which I congratulate the Group. This is Corporate Social Responsibility.” He added, “we have to propagate energy conservation measures and now merge them in our building regulations” Shri Zagade also mentioned that we will have to eventually graduate to a level where we make these regulations compulsory. He appealed to all the patrons in the city and fall in line and take eco friendly measures like the ones taken in Rohan Mithila.
