“Bliss “fully artistic
Bliss owned by Aman Rai, is an extremely popular home cum garden store in Koregaon Park. Started in November 2004, the store is manifestation of Aman’s childhood dreams of decorating homes for others.
As soon as I entered I was spell bound with the arrangement of items on offer. But the first thing that caught my attention was a marvellous woman’s marble statue made in Florence, Italy. Standing right in the centre of this store and all of 600 kilograms the artefact symbolises the name and spirit of Bliss perfectly.
The magnificent duplex store houses an enviable collection of indoor artefacts, gift articles and garden items. The collection is a fine assortment of statues, portraits, Ganesha and Buddha paintings, sculptures, candle stands and a lot more. For the garden section, they have a huge range of picket fences in various sizes and designs, trellises, gazebos, window planters and garden benches etc. Recreate an artificial forest like atmosphere with fibre animals like deer, turtles, flamingos, bird houses, bird baths, and many more. They also have artificial plants, flowers and creepers to adorn your homes.
As we admired the collection Aman said, “One person behind the entire show was my late father. He is the main person who thought of this idea, the product range and everything. Six months after we started this place he passed away and therefore I have been looking after it ever since.” Therefore in memory of his father and founder of Bliss, Late Mr. Mandhir Rai, Aman has a beautiful sculpture made by the world famous sculptor Bhagvan Rampure.
Bliss has an array of customers coming from all over. People from Pune, Bombay as well as other cities come here include celebrities as well as Page 3 personalities. The reason being Aman said, “The whole idea and concept is unique. Each item here is handpicked and a true delight for art connoisseurs.” Also 70 percent of the stuff is made in-house and the three mediums that they mostly work on are ceramic, wood and fibre.
The store also undertakes landscape and garden contracts. Their past clientele includes large school projects like the Bishops School at Undri and St. Peters at Panchgani. Another interesting thing they do is they put up magnificent sets for exclusive weddings which are obviously one of a kind.
