Pimpri gets its first premium business hotel
Indian Express: At a time when the industrial town has suffered reverses in the wake of the economic downturn, a premium business hotel, Citrus Hotels, has been launched in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The hotel is the first with five-star facility and the biggest ever investment of Rs 100 crore in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Significantly, as many as 250 local youths have got jobs, which is hard to come by these days in the famed Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial belt.
Set up by the Mind Space Hotels and Resorts, a company owned by Omprakash Goenka, Omprakash Bhandari and Ramesh Thakkar, the hotel has come up on a 1,00,000 sq ft land opposite the headquarters of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The hotel was inaugurated by Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Aparna Doke on Saturday. State Water Resources and Energy Minister Ajit Pawar who was supposed to inaugurate the hotel could not make it on Saturday.
However, on Sunday, he visited the hotel. “The industrial town of Pimpri-Chinchwad which is growing much faster than any other cities in the state badly needed a business hotel for the large number of industrialists who flock to Pune from all over the country. The hotel is ideally located right on the Pune-Mumbai highway and is just a 10-minute drive from Pune. The hotel has added to the glory of the bustling town,” he said. Mayor Doke said the setting up of the five-star hotel has enhanced the prestige of Pimpri-Chinchwad.
“With the launch of the Citrus Hotels in Pimpri, we have introduced in India the newest chain of full service smart, sophisticated and stylish hotesl, for the value-conscious traveller. The Pune hotel boasts comfort, convenience, service and savings, all this and more,” said Omprakash Goenka, director Mirah Group and Citrus Hotesl.
