Pulotsav to take off on Sunday
Sakaal Times: Classical vocalist Kishori Amonkar and actor Dilip Prabhavalkar will be honoured with Pu La Smriti Sanman and Pulotsav Bahurupee Sanman respectively at the 7th Pulotsav. The 11-day cultural festival dedicated to humourist late PL Deshpande will commence on Sunday, coinciding with the writer-performer’s birth anniversary.
Activist-writer Girish Prabhune will also be honoured with Krutadnyata Sanman, festival organiser Virendra Chitrav told mediapersons on Wednesday.
Besides cultural events, young generation politicians including MPs Supriya Sule and Bhavana Gawali, MLAs Praniti Shinde and Shishir Shinde will be interviewed. Rajya Sabha member Prakash Javadekar will anchor the interview session.
Actor Nana Patekar will inaugurate the event, which will showcase musical events, interviews and other audio-visual programmes, short-films screening and a book exhibition, Chitrav said. ‘Searching for Smita’, ‘Seven Chances’ by Butter Kiton, ‘Volume Zero’ and ‘Shanti Niketan’ by Arun Khopkar and ‘Bahinai’ by Atul Pethe will be some of the short films screened during the festival between November 12 and 15.
Special screenings of clips from an interview with of musician late Bhaskar Chandavarkar and a short film on actor late Chittaranjan Kolhatkar are also arranged to pay tributes to the legendary artistes. The film on Kolhatkar was made by Prabhakar Pendharkar, Chitrav added.
Season tickets for the festival and entry passes for various events can be obtained from Pathfinder near Nilayam Cinema in Sadashiv Peth from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm till November 8.
