AHA-students stand-off continues
Sakaal Times: The agitation by the students of Air Hostess and Hospitality Academy (AHA) continued on Wednesday with their talks with the promoter of AHA Sapna Gupta for refund of fees remaining inconclusive till late night.
The academy, located on the Jangli Maharaj Road, is facing students’ wrath since Monday for allegedly failing on its promises, which included in-flight training and Cambridge University certificate.
The issue has attracted political involvement with student wings of all the parties extending their support to the students. The students launched a sit-in agitation near Kamla Arcade, where the academy is located, for meeting Gupta. The police have deployed a heavy security cover at the academy to avoid any untoward incident.
The agitation escalated on Wednesday afternoon after the arrival of Gupta, who was firm on her stand dismissing claims of any refund. The agitating students gathered at the Deccan police station late night shouting slogans as the AHA officials met a few students and leaders of political parties in the presence of the police.
“The students have availed the course for the entire year and the fees cannot be refunded. We have never given guarantee for any placements,” she said at the Deccan police station. While admitting delay in fulfilling some of the promises, Gupta said, “The in-flight training will be given to the students by December.”
The pass-out students are not ready to lodge any police complaint and are demanding refund of the fees while the students in the current batch are demanding to start the classes.
