Twin cities will get piped LPG supply from Oct 30
Sakaal Times: The Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL) will launch its piped domestic LPG supply in Pimpri-Chinchwad from October 30. As many as 1,100 consumers have registered for the facility of piped gas supply.
Addressing a press conference at Pimpri on Monday, the managing director of MNGL Shyama Sunder and deputy general manager (marketing) A G Dharwad said that the facility would also be made available for the industrial units.
Sunder said, “The company planned to supply piped gas to over 5,000 households in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad by March 1. A pipeline has been laid from Panvel to Chikhli for the purpose.”
The first 1,100 consumers, who have registered, are from the Empire State and Swapnanagari societies.
Dharwad said that the company currently supplied piped cooking gas to 14 cities including Mumbai, Delhi and that it was safe and cheaper.
He assured of uninterrupted gas supply to Pimpri-Chinchwad consumers.
MNGL has also set up CNG stations for autorickshaws and PMPML buses in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
More supply stations would soon come up near Tata Motors company, Pimple Saudagar, Kasarwadi and Chinchwad station, Sunder said.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal commissioner Asheesh Sharma was also present at the press conference.
He said that the PCMC would offer the piped-gas registration facility for citizens at civic facilitation centres.
