75-yr-old woman run over by tanker
The Times of India: A 75-year-old woman was run over by a water tanker in Upper Indiranagar on Monday afternoon.
The police have identified the deceased as Kusum Shamrao Pawar, a resident of Upper Indiranagar, Bibvewadi. The Sahakarnagar police have arrested the driver of the tanker, Kishore Raghunath Mhasgude (25) of Kondhwa for rash driving.
A complaint in this regard has been lodged by the deceased’s grandson Sachin Pawar (27). According to police, on Monday afternoon, when Pawar was on her way home, a speeding tanker hit her near Mahesh Sanskritik Bhavan on Kondhwa road. The impact of the mishap was such that Pawar died on the spot. Passers-by nabbed the driver and handed him over to the police.
Sub-inspector C B Mane of Sahakarnagar police station is investigating the case.
