PCMC plans to create Balnagari, an amusement park in Bhosari
Sakaal Times: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is planning Balnagari, an amusement park, on 56,276 square meter land in Bhosari.
The civic administration has said that it would be the biggest amusement park in Pimpri- Chinchwad municipal limits.
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) had 15 acres of land at Gawalimatha on the Chinchwad-Bhosari road. This land came into the possession of the municipal corporation in 1984. The proposed project is located in J block of this land. The Development Plan has reserved this land for Balnagari project.
An organisation, Rachana, has prepared a draft plan for the project. Work will be expedited only after the draft plan is approved by the municipal corporation and after getting sanction for the estimated costs.
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation administration has planned to develop the Balnagari project on ‘Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.
The park, to be developed as a theme park will be equipped with sophisticated toys.
Pimpri Chinchwad’s Deputy Mayor Sharad Borhade said that the estimated cost for the Balanagari project is Rs 50 crores. He said that cultural events and school activities will take place at the Balnagari.
