SeamEdu introduces degree course in Gemology
Sakaal Times: The growing list of new age careers added another new name of gemology. City-based Seamless Education Academy under its Institute of Gem and Jewellery has introduced a course in Gemology for a professional degree in Gemology. The venture is partnered by P N Gadgil jewelers.
Announcing the launch of the course, Dr Jayshree Panjikar, advisor to the institute said, “India is the largest diamond processing country in the world. Yet we have very few professional people with practical knowledge and experience. The study of this science opens career opportunities that are in demand in the gem market for analysts, manufacturers, traders, jewelers, astrologers, consultants and academia.”
Giving the specifics about the course Dr Arun Nigvekar, MD, SeamEdu said, “This course has been designed in three stages, and will teach students everything about all kinds of precious, semi-precious stones and diamonds, right from mining to marketing. The course will cover basic to advanced gemology, diamond-grading and the advanced short-term course in Bangkok, where students will get to visit a gemstone mine and the gem market of Bangkok.” SeamEdu will have an international panel from France, Germany and Sri Lanka among other countries added Nigvekar.
“India is a 1 lakh crore industry and there is huge scope and opportunity for students of gemology in varied fields like gem trade, identification and academics”, said Saurabh Gadgil, partner, PNG.
Students can be from any academic background, with basic tenth standard degree having science. “We will teach everything from the basics and there will be ten students in each class,” said Panjikar.
The six-month course will start from May 15. The course fee will be Rs 1,25,000 and will include security and deposit along with the cost of the Bangkok trip.

I checked this institute and it rocks to the core. The courses out here are Top Notch.. No fake all original..
Its da first one in pune for Gemmology. The equipments used here are awsome..managed to get my hands on them finally. Rest everything is worth the value.
