Ishanya Mall – Paradise for home-makers, interior designers, architects and one and all!

mallAs one walks in to Ishanya it is rather difficult to not to get taken over by the enormity of the structure. As one enters one can see in front of their own eyes a structure sprawling over a few acres and confirms that it is righly so called Asia’s largest Mall. Well what is unique about this mall is the fact that it is not your everyday mall that sells clothes, cutlery, food items and other things ishanya Mall specialises in all that is required to make a house and further make the structure in to a home, furnishings, decorations and even home appliances are one of the few things that are available in this huge mall.

At the entrance is a very interesting looking security cabin that is in the shape of a tilting sqaure with rounded corners is elevated from the ground and is a true architectural innovation. a little further ahead is an amphi theatre where a light and sound show is conducted. It goes by the name Fantasia Magic and it is the story of magic narrated through light and sound. This show was produced in London and is directed by LSE, Belgium. A little after that on the right of the second entrance of the mall is another huge structure that homes Croma that offers in-house home appliance products like Ac’s coolers, wine chillers, vacuum cleaners, blenders, coffee makers, juice makers and laptops among other things. They also house many a brands like sony, Samsung, LG, Philips and the likes. They not only have home appliances but also all that you need in electronic appliances. It is an electronic appliances super store. The have irons, laptops, washing machines, game consoles, headphones, toys, toasters, heaters, coolers, air conditioners, televisions, home-theatres, sound systems, eletric chimneys, massagers and lots more.

They not only have products that can lure customers but also have easy finance schemes for their customers and even an extended warranty scheme that is applicable on all products. The extended Croma warranty extends a year ahead of the warranty available witht the product in question. The easy EMI scheme is also available on all other products except for I-pods and mobile phones.

They also have printers, fax machines, synthesizers and toys.

The mall is divided in to six aracdes and this article can only describe three because roaming six aracdes to get a quick idea about the place can surely prove to be an Herculean task. So on my first visit I decided to see and experience only what the first three arcades had on offer. Each arcade has three floors and each floor has about three to ten shops per floor.

The lower level of Arcade 01 has a place called Kool Kids, which I assumed will be a store that offers home decor solutions for kids rooms. However when out of curiousity I reached at Kool Kids I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Kool Kids was actually a day care centre of sorts, or lets just call it a solution for children free shopping for new parents. The charges for this are Rs.70/- per hour and it has a few other rules and regulations. It is quite a small place compared to the expanse of the mall. They could have done better with a children’s play area that would house an ambitious amount of kids considering the number of visitors this colossal mall can pull.

All the three arcades have a host of shops that offer products ranging from cement, tiles, flooring, sunmicas, decor, carpets, curios, statues, paints, lighting, furnishing, home appliances, electronics and other goods to name a few. Some of the names that are found in the mnumerous shops here are Home Town that offers home dec or solutions as well as appliances. It presents the shop vbery well by having a display of around seven to eight model set ups within the shop itself. on the second level of the shop they have a nearly well furnioshed home that is hard to be beleived for a display. It looks feels like a fully functional house.

And here is the list of the other national and international names that you can find here;

Arcade 02: Art and antiques, Be, Good Homestore, Fab India, magpie, Maspar, Muslin, Painted Rhythm, Themes, @ Home, Afton (Health and Fitness Equipment Store), Area, Beauteax, Ecoscapes (that has majority eco friendly home decor solutions that are brought from South Eats Asia, and are a pleasant relief for those who like wood), Elemento, F&F, Llumar (window solutions), Kejal’s Furnishing (they have a rather surprising collection as compared to the collection in their Laxmi Road store), Yamini, Armstrong (ceiling an flooring solutions), Berry (floor), Floor Zone, Fenesta (window solutions), Gebi Glass, Jotun (furnishings), Square Foot, Tatva, Stone Studio (they have home decor solutions for walls, small fountains and water falls, stone statues and name plates as well), Wall & Window.

Arcade 03: ACC (ACC cement help desk), Bella Cassa (tiles, bath and kitchen), Meine Kuche (whih in German measn My Kitchen), Signature Kitchen, BP Techno.

Well even if I said that the place is colossal and covering the area in a single visit can prove to be an Herculean task, just a though to sign off with, this is Ishanya Mall that is still under way construction, the place is still being built and many more names are expected to come and be a part of brand Ishanya. Wqonder what it will be like when this place will be complete!

It still is a paradise for architects, interior designers, home-makers and even if decorating homes does not interest or intrigue you a visit to this mall surely will stir the urge within you to become one because Ishanya may be defined as home making made easy.
