Street Food Review – Faaso’s
Faaso’s is a one-stop shop for delicious rolls. Their tagline, “Feast on the Run”, is reinforced by the quick service, the smart new packaging and the delicious rolls.
I have no clue what the name’s supposed to mean nor did I have the opportunity to ask because I was refused any information or a photograph of the place. Why? The last time they let someone take a snap of this joint for a review, they had to relocate!
The first Faaso’s was in Model Colony beside the Momo’s and Monginis shops. They had to relocate from there because a neighbouring doctor complained. She claimed that Faaso’s was serving unhealthy food and so should be shut down. But that is so not true! So, after the Model Colony mishap they relocated to Senapati Bapat Road, behind Chrysalis before moving again to a little shack opposite Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
Since they have been there for longer than any of the other locations, I thought it would be only fair not to press them too much for information; with two bitter relocations they must have their guards about them for any reviewers or photographers. Now they also have a branch at Aundh that serves the Aundh and Pashan areas.
From the other occasions that I have visited there, I can tell you that they serve a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian rolls. They make some spicy filling on a hot ‘tawa’, right in front of your eyes and roll it in a ‘maida roti’ and serve it with tomato ketchup and I guess chilly sauce. It is a pale green spicy sauce with a vinegary taste. I always ask for a li’l extra of that when parceling. It does not really make much of a difference whether you are taking a parcel or eating there because the place has no arrangements for seating. So in a way taking a parcel or ordering in makes more sense than standing on the street and eating.
So next time you are in the area and fancy a quick bite on the move, why not pop into Faaso’s. You’re sure not to be disappointed.

Fasso rolls are buckwas!! Best rolls in town would be rolls from Kapila, Kareem's and Myroll Junction.
