SMEs in Pune to have their own networking portal
Indiamart: India Konnects (www.indiakonnects.com), India first business networking portal has announced its plans to start an online networking portal exclusively for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of Pune, in association with several chambers of commerce in the city. The portal would offer segmented business networking opportunities to several small IT companies, and other small entrepreneurs in Pune.
Romit Dasgupta, Director (technology), Globsyn Group and primary contact for India Konnects, said “Pune is an enterprising city and a portal like India Konnects ours will be highly resourceful, especially among SMEs who have a high level of networking need to make their presence felt in the industry and to increase exports. We will be holding talks with several chambers of commerce to expand our base.”
“India Konnects has already a customer base of over three-lakh and is growing at a rate of few thousand users a day”, said Mr. Dasgupta, and added that they were looking at investing further to ramp up the research and development to meet the requirements of growing number of users.
At a time when startups across sectors are trying to make their mark to attract venture capital and private equity funds, Dasgupta said the portal will be beneficial for their growth.
“The success of customer communities has shown that business relationships can be created and developed on the Web. The nature of doing business, especially for entrepreneurs and start-ups will change for the better,” he added.
India Konnects is a unique business networking platform that enables users to establish and join distinct, self-governed networking communities based on shared professional interests and/or corporate affiliation. India Konnects communities are, in effect, stand-alone professional networks. They can be fully branded to match any look and feel and provide all the features of an online social networking business, including sections for classified advertising, interest group, video news and discussion forums. Community creators are provided with tools such as permission sets for managing their customer base, an analytics suite, and the ability to generate revenue from ads, subscriptions and other means. Features such as chat, VoIP and video conferencing facilitate meaningful and convenient interactions among India Konnects members. Regardless of the number of communities they create or join, members utilize the same profile for every Konnects community in which they participate.
With an aim to provide more such specialized services and build on its user base, the company will invest around $ 2 million for its expansion plans in the country.
